Warehouse & Workshop Operative, updated 14th June 2022

Working in Horley, Surrey.

£30k per annum with regular overtime opportunities at enhanced rates, BUPA.

  • Assisting all workshop/warehouse/stores procedures
  • Receiving/checking goods in
  • Collating deliveries of plant and materials/goods out
  • Assisting the loading and unloading of plant and materials deliveries
  • Cleaning and checking of returned plant and re-useable materials
  • Mechanical repairs to returned plant and equipment
  • Preparation & Re-finishing of site plant & equipment
  • Relief driving (max 35cwt) drop side truck with tail lift & Ford Transit type van, deliveries and collections throughout south east and all areas of London
  • Current full Uk driver licence is an essential requirement
  • Manual handling is substantially part of this job
  • Must be experienced in the use of a wide range of hand tools
  • Must be able to work individually and as a team player
  • Appropriate Health & safety training provided
  • Working hours Monday to Friday inc. 7.30am to 4.00pm. A flexible approach to working hours is essential ie early starts/early finish, occasional overtime etc

We are proud of our historical and ongoing support for apprenticeships and have long since recognised this as a valuable training route and foundation for career development, as well as actively supporting sustainability within the construction industry.

Persons willing to apply themselves to the scheme can expect to achieve a Level 3 NVQ Diploma, providing access to the essential JIB/CSCS affiliated electricians gold card and increased earnings through higher pay rates & price work.

Candidates for the Level 3 NVQ Apprenticeship will need to have a minimum of GCSE grade C in Maths & English.
